The estimating role is a key contributor in our commercial process. Working closely with our outside sales, inside sales, and project management team, the Estimator is responsible for accurately forecasting project costs and developing customer facing proposals. Ability to collaborate with others to identify project requirements is critical for this role. Additionally, key to the Estimators role is analyzing drawings, technical documents, other related regulatory guidelines in developing an accurate proposal for the customer. Estimators will input data/information using a CRM system and costing template to develop project quotes. They will also work with other key Oldcastle Infrastructure functional areas such as production, engineering, and transportation as part of the quote buildout. Estimators will exhibit organizational discipline, technical prowess, and meticulous attention to detail while managing multiple RFQs.

Job Location

• This position is on site at our office in Phoenix, AZ.

Job Requirements

• Analyze project plans, product specifications, and complete take-offs for target opportunities
• Work with the sales team on proposal strategy, basis-of-design changes, or value engineering options on unique project requirements
• Efficiently perform all estimate stages including – project selection, estimating organization, pricing, review, and closeout
• Enter project information for quoting into CRM. Collaborate with commercial team members to ensure the company’s products and customer value provide a differentiated market advantage
• Understand customer project timelines and due dates to manage target opportunities accordingly
• Partner with vendors on special accessories and components required for custom projects proposals
• Manage bids and target opportunities that range in size and complexity
• Review and analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation with Engineering for specialty products to account for additional material and labor cost
• Utilize prescribed price list established by Area Sales Manager
• Review available upcoming bid reports, such as Dodge, and others for new potential opportunities

Job Responsibilities

• Working knowledge of how to read and interpret project plans and specifications schematics
• 3+ years of recent construction and/or bidding experience
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience a plus
• Proficient in MS Office applications and generally comfortable in learning new IT systems
• Experience using Salesforce is a plus
• Knowledge of software’s for proposal drawings
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Self-starter and ability to work independently
• Ability to multi-task and work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
• Detail orientated and ability to prioritize workload
• Positive attitude and ability to work with various personality
