Position Overview

This is a hands-on, working superintendent role that requires both field supervision and active participation in day-to-day operations. The Roofing Superintendent will oversee and manage all aspects of commercial roofing installation projects while working alongside crews to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency standards are consistently met. The role involves supervising field teams, coordinating with project managers, interacting with clients, and ensuring that work is completed on schedule and within budget. This position is ideal for someone who leads by example, values teamwork, and is not afraid to get involved in the work being performed.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in roofing installation work while overseeing daily operations on assigned job sites.

• Manage labor, materials, and schedules to ensure timely and cost-effective project completion.

• Supervise and train roofing crew members, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and quality standards.

• Conduct safety meetings, site inspections, and ensure compliance with OSHA and company-specific safety policies.

• Monitor work progress and resolve on-site issues to maintain high standards and minimize delays or rework.

• Serve as the primary on-site contact for clients, vendors, and suppliers to ensure smooth communication and material coordination.

• Maintain accurate records of job progress, material usage, and employee hours, and report regularly to the Project Manager.

• Assist with budget tracking and project cost management to ensure alignment with financial goals.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years in commercial roofing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.

• Proficient in commercial roofing systems such as TPO, EPDM, and modified bitumen.

• Strong leadership, team management, and hands-on technical skills.

• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

• OSHA 30 Certification preferred; additional roofing or construction certifications are a plus.

• Ability to work at heights, in various weather conditions, and perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, climbing, and working in confined spaces.
