Pharmacy Technician Job Details

• Job Title: Hospital Pharmacy Technician
• Location: Peridot, Arizona 85542
• Healthcare Setting: Hospital Pharmacy
• Employment Type: Travel/Contract pharmacy job
• Start Date: September 2, 2025
• End Date: December 6, 2025
• Contract Duration: 14 weeks
• Schedule: 5 shifts per week, 8-hour shifts
• On-Site Position
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $3120-$3200

Pharmacy Technician Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Completion of an accredited pharmacy technician training program preferred
• Current and valid Pharmacy Technician license (Arizona license preferred)
• National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) preferred
• At least 1 year of experience as a pharmacy technician, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting
• BLS certification (must be obtained within 30 days of hire)
• Ability to pass background and drug screening
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Hospital Pharmacy Technician Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications to patients
• Accurately fill medication orders and unit dose carts under pharmacist supervision
• Maintain proper storage and security of medications and pharmacy supplies
• Perform medication inventory checks and assist with inventory management
• Deliver medications to nursing units and other hospital departments as needed
• Prepare IV admixtures and other sterile products following established procedures (if trained and certified)
• Operate and maintain pharmacy automation equipment
• Assist with medication reconciliation and record-keeping
• Follow all hospital, state, and federal regulations regarding pharmacy operations
• Support a safe and clean work environment
• Participate in departmental orientation, training, and quality assurance programs
• Perform other pharmacy technician duties as assigned
