Position Overview
Reporting to the Director of Operations , the Hearing Instrument Specialist is responsible for conducting diagnostic testing and providing support to the on-site Audiologist in managing hearing instruments. This role requires strong clinical knowledge, excellent patient communication skills, and comfort working with individuals across various age groups—children (5+), adolescents, adults, and older adults.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and committed to delivering an outstanding patient experience.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic hearing assessments and assist the Audiologist with hearing instrument fittings and follow-up care.
- Provide guidance and support to patients regarding hearing instruments, maintenance, and usage.
- Maintain professional and supportive interactions with patients, families, vendors, and internal team members.
- Apply working knowledge of the auditory system and auditory rehabilitation techniques.
- Ensure accurate documentation and adherence to clinical standards and organizational protocols.

Work Environment
- Primary work setting is a general office environment.
- Noise levels are consistent with standard office conditions.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, turn, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to grasp, push, and pull objects such as files and cabinet drawers, and reach overhead.
- Ability to operate standard office and clinical equipment, including computers, printers, fax machines, and telephones.
- Requires normal or correctable vision and hearing.
- Must be able to accurately perform duties essential to the role.

Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience in conducting hearing tests, assessments, and consultations with accuracy
- Commitment to patient care and improving quality of life for individuals with hearing conditions
- Prior experience in hearing care or a related healthcare field is a plus
