Farm Manager

THE POSITION
The Farm Manager is a key operational leader, responsible for the performance, health, and culture of approximately 4,000 acres of pistachio orchards in Arizona. This role balances strategic planning with hands-on leadership, ensuring optimal yields, cost efficiency, and sustainable farming practices.
You will oversee budgets, lead a high-performing team, and collaborate closely with company leadership and agronomy experts. Success in this role means delivering strong annual results while setting up the orchards for long-term productivity. Main Responsibilities:
Farm Operations Management
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the pistachio orchards, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient practices.
- Monitor orchard health through regular field visits, proactively addressing issues related to irrigation, pests, disease, and weather.
- Develop and maintain effective irrigation schedules in alignment with agronomic best practices.
Budget & Financial Management
- Create and manage annual budgets and P&L performance for assigned orchards.
- Approve expenditures, maintain accurate forecasts, and manage labor costs effectively.
- Partner with senior leaders on long-term investment planning, capital projects, and operational improvements.
People Leadership & Culture
- Lead, mentor, and hold accountable a team of foremen and field operators.
- Conduct regular team meetings to communicate priorities, share updates, and gather feedback.
- Support career growth through training, coaching, and performance evaluations.
- Uphold and strengthen the company’s values-driven culture.
Agronomic Strategy & Sustainability
- Collaborate with internal experts and advisors to set and execute annual agronomic plans for pistachios.
- Leverage agricultural technology to improve operational efficiency and yields.
- Ensure timely and accurate execution of all yield-impacting activities.
- Plan for long-term orchard health and resource stewardship.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and service providers.
- Coordinate with internal teams to share best practices and align on operational priorities.
- Support leadership in evaluating potential acquisitions or expansions.

THE CANDIDATE

You are equally comfortable walking the orchards and engaging with field teams as you are managing budgets and collaborating with senior leadership. Experience & Skills
- Proven track record managing permanent crops, preferably pistachios, almonds, or similar tree nuts.
- Strong leadership experience with the ability to build and develop effective teams.
- Solid financial management skills, including budgeting and P&L oversight.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and open to adopting new agricultural technologies.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred but not required.
