SUMMARY: Understands and reinforces the Company vision of being the best producer of steel pipe and tube in North America. Performs assigned tasks in a manner reflecting and achieving the Vision consistent with the Company's Core Values: Safety, Integrity, Teamwork, & Growth and Results.

Utilize and operate equipment, material and tools in the inspection and processes slit coils for use on the mills. Responsible for safe operation of the end welder and all ancillary activities that support the production of quality slits and butt welds for ASTM spec tube. Complies with all safety, quality, customer focus, preventative maintenance and housekeeping standards. All other duties as assigned and expected.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Read and apply micrometer, caliper, gages and tape measure
2. Understand and use shop floor system
3. Select proper slit coils in inventory to match customer orders
4. Verify selected slit coils for their thickness and width for customer order accuracy
5. Operation of end welder to butt weld coil to previous coil in the mill
6. Proper welding to ensure quality and seamless process through the mill
7. Load and off load steel
8. Operation of forklift and overhead crane
9. Ensures bottom portion of slit coil tags are given to the Mill Operator for processing and tracking
10. Assists during changeovers where needed.
11. Complete knowledge of Company quality requirements and procedures
12. Complete knowledge of Company safety requirements and procedures
13. Complete knowledge of Company housekeeping rules for all work and non-work areas utilized
14. Communicate to management and peers any safety, quality, preventative maintenance, customer focus, or equipment issues as part of the company's improvement initiatives

OTHER ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

REQUIREMENTS:

1. High School Diploma or GED
2. Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
3. Ability to conform to safety and quality requirements
4. Ability to stand for long periods of time as well as walk, twist, bend, kneel, see, talk, hear
5. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly, 50 pounds frequently and on occasion lift or move 100 pounds.
6. Ability to work in a non-climate controlled facility
