Position Title: Negotiator

Type: Hourly, Non-Exempt, Full-Time, In-Office, Non-Remote

Hours: 8 hour shift, within the hours of 6am-6pm (varies)

Pay: $24.04 - $31.74 per hour, bonus opportunities

Yrefy is a private student loan refinance company, specializing in assisting borrowers and co-borrowers in relieving the burden of student loans, through a refinance. Our ideal candidate will have some account management and negotiations experience while possessing exceptional interpersonal, communication, and negotiations skills.

The primary function of this role is to build relationships and act as a liaison between agencies, law firms, and loan holders to negotiate payoffs.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Contacts collection agencies, law firms, and loan holders to negotiate payoffs.
• Gathers and verifies validation documents.
• Manages queue of accounts and ensures work standards are met with customers and agencies.
• Effectively negotiates offers to ensure business needs are met.
• Helps develop company reputation with agencies and solicit referrals.
• Manages monthly document of accounts to be funded.
• Attends all meetings and training courses as required.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Exceptional interpersonal, customer service, problem-solving, verbal and written communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Experience in the student lending field is preferred but not necessary.
• Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure, especially during peak hours or intense situations.
• Decisiveness and attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of CRM software.

Education and Experience:

• One (1) year of experience in negotiations required.
• Previous experience in debt settlement, negotiations, QC, compliance, and validation is welcomed and translates well to this role.
• Some sales experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
