Job Summary
We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our infrastructure team within Disney’s Ad Technology organization. Our team’s mission is to provide automation, custom tooling, and infrastructure support that will enable teams across the organization to deliver products quickly and safely.
As a Senior Software Engineer on this team, you will have a deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, containerization, and automation, with hands-on experience in designing, deploying, and maintaining scalable platforms. You'll develop tools and automation that enable developers to deploy and debug services easily and efficiently. You'll work closely with multiple teams of engineers to design new solutions that streamline our operations and help our engineers scale.
Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:
Evaluate, prototype, and integrate new AI tooling to enhance team and organizational capabilities
Design and develop AI agents and MCP servers that streamline workflows for both internal and cross-org developers
Stay current with emerging technologies and assess their applicability to team objectives
Design, build, and maintain Terraform modules enabling developer self-service infrastructure provisioning
Manage and evolve Spinnaker pipelines to support diverse deployment patterns
Define, document, and continuously improve CI/CD processes and best practices for the organization
Build custom internal tooling that improves developer productivity across the organization utilizing Python, Go, and Typescript.
Identify pain points experienced by engineering teams within the Ads organization and deliver purpose-built solutions
Create reusable, well-documented tools that scale across multiple teams
Contribute to architectural decisions and establish technical standards for the team
Take end-to-end ownership of projects from scoping through delivery, driving them to completion with minimal oversight
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field (Master’s preferred), or equivalent experience.5+ years of backend or platform engineering experience, with a track record of building scalable APIs
Proficient in Python, Typescript, or Go
Expertise with AWS cloud provider
Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker
Knowledge of infrastructure as code such as Terraform
Strong understanding of cloud-native design patterns, secure AI API integration, and service scalability
Strong problem-solving abilities and solid production debugging skills
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across multiple engineering teams
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with services meshes within Kubernetes such as Istio
Experience developing developer tooling
Strong understanding of large, complex distributed systems
Experience implementing and improving monitoring and alerting systems. Building dashboards to help better visualize the information
Experience with additional cloud platforms such as Azure or GCP alongside AWS.

The hiring range for this position in Los Angeles, CA is between $141,900 – $190,300, Seattle, WA is between $148,700 - $199,400 and San Francisco, CA is between $155,400 - $208,400. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.Recommended Jobs
