SeaCa Plastic Packaging, LLC located in Surprise, AZ is an innovative plastic packaging product company under the umbrella of Seattle-Tacoma Box Company headquartered in Kent, WA. Seattle-Tacoma Box Company has been under the same family management for 6 generations spanning nearly 135 years.
Currently, Seattle-Tacoma Box Company and subsidiaries support assembly and production operations and warehouses in Washington, Alaska, Oregon, California and Arizona. SeaCa Plastic Packaging, LLC is an industry pioneer in the production of plastic corrugated products used throughout the food industry.
The SeaCa Plastic Packaging, LLC Quality Control Department is currently looking to add a Quality Control Technician to our team. The Quality Control Technician will provide support to the company by ensuring compliant product production.
Responsible to follow plant safety protocols and to exercise good judgement in all operations. Follow a Standard Operating Procedure to perform a series of tests that monitor and record quality. Report quality performance in the reporting system provided.
This is a position in a manufacturing environment. Training is provided to help you grow your career. You will be joining a crew of 3-9 people working as a team to accomplish the operating goals of the shift. Work schedule is Weds/Thurs-Sat from 7pm to 7am. Shifts are 3 on 4 off, alternating with 4 on 3 off.

D) Weds/Thurs-Sat 7pm - 7am
Due to the nature of our operation, flexibility is required, and employees may be asked to adjust schedules, work overtime, or cover other shifts when needed.
Requirements:Duties/Responsibilities:
- Perform hourly inspections of hollow form sheets
- Using metric and/or standard measuring devices, such us, calipers, micrometers, scale, impact, visual etc. to detect and confirm quality standards achieved
- Inspecting product using digital inspection camera and software associated with this
- Recognize changes in the product using inspection data
- Communicate in a professional manner with the crew of quality concerns, and quarantine out of spec products
- Document all quality inspections manually and/or electronically
- Perform calculations to verify totals, average, etc.
- Inspect raw materials, finished products, returned products, and other samples, using ash test, melt flow rate, impact, tensile, etc.
- Asist production in the startup and shutdown when needed
- Maintain a clean quality lab and manufacturing area at all times
- Assist in receiving and tagging raw materials
- Assist training new crew members and other departments as needed on quality standards and how to perform quality inspections
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Attention to detail is very critical
- Recognizing changes using measurement data and visual inspections
- Able to work in high paced environment
- Ability to prioritize tasks
- Basic computer skill required, Windows, Word, Excel preferred
- Adaptability to changes in work environment such us, material, crew, etc.
- Problem solving and creativity
Education and Experience:
- Two or more years of experience in quality inspection, in industrial environment
- 2 – 5 years of manufacturing experience in packing industry preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to see and distinguish color, including using glass
- Adapt to potential work schedule changes that come with working in a plant with a 24-hour/7-day a week operations
- Ability to push, pull, and lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in both a high and low temperature environment
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
