The Veterinary Customer Specialist serves as the primary point of contact for customers in a veterinary and animal treatment laboratory setting. This role focuses on delivering exceptional customer service by handling inquiries across phone and email, resolving product and service issues, processing orders and account updates, and ensuring a consistently positive customer experience. Responsibilities

  • Respond to customer inquiries via phone and email in a timely, courteous, and professional manner.
  • Clarify customer concerns, identify root causes of issues, and determine the most appropriate solutions.
  • Resolve product and service issues while maintaining a high standard of customer satisfaction.
  • Process customer orders, returns, exchanges, and account updates accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain detailed and organized records of customer interactions, transactions, and follow-up actions.
  • Escalate complex or unresolved issues to the appropriate department or team when necessary.
  • Provide accurate and up-to-date product and service information to customers.
  • Use CRM systems to document interactions, manage cases, and track customer history.
  • Follow company policies, procedures, and service standards in all customer interactions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve customer satisfaction, streamline internal processes, and enhance service delivery.
  • Perform data entry related to customer accounts, orders, and purchase information with a high level of accuracy.
  • Handle inbound phone calls and emails while managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in customer service or customer support, preferably in a call center or similar environment.
  • Proficiency in handling inbound phone calls and responding to email inquiries.
  • Experience using CRM systems such as Salesforce or Zendesk (minimum 1 year experience).
  • Strong customer support skills with a focus on professionalism, empathy, and problem solving.
  • Ability to perform accurate data entry for orders, purchases, and customer information.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus and can enhance communication with a diverse customer base.
  • Prior experience in order entry and account maintenance is beneficial.
  • Experience working in a veterinary, medical, or laboratory-related setting is an advantage.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across phone and email channels.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy when documenting customer interactions and processing transactions.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex customer issues.
  • Interest in developing knowledge of veterinary products, services, and lab workflows.
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required.
Work Environment

This position is based in an office setting located within a veterinary and animal treatment laboratory environment. You will work on-site alongside approximately 35 colleagues at the lab location, collaborating closely with team members who support veterinary and lab-related services. The role involves working at a computer for extended periods, using phone, email, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office applications throughout the day. The environment is fast-paced and service-oriented, with a strong focus on accuracy, professionalism, and teamwork. The position begins on a contract basis with the opportunity to transition to a direct, permanent role, at which point comprehensive benefits, including health, medical, dental, vision coverage, and a 401(k) with safe harbor contribution, become available. This setting offers a structured office atmosphere within an active veterinary lab, providing opportunities to grow professionally in both customer service and the veterinary field.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.
