Industrial Scrap Metal Recycler Account Manager

Location: El Mirage, AZ

Reports To: General Manager / Owners

Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt, Annual Salary

Position Summary

The Industrial Recycler Account Manager is responsible for developing and managing relationships with industrial clients to source, purchase, and manage recyclable materials. This role focuses on identifying new business opportunities, maintaining existing accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction, and optimizing material flow to meet company revenue and sustainability goals. The ideal candidate is a proactive relationship builder with strong knowledge of industrial recycling, scrap materials, and sustainability practices. Key Responsibilities

  • Account Management & Sales
  • Manage and grow a portfolio of industrial recycling accounts across manufacturing, construction, energy, and logistics sectors.
  • Develop tailored recycling programs that meet client operational and environmental objectives.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service agreements to ensure profitability and compliance.
  • Know CRI’s services inside and out, to craft solutions for our customers.
  • Provide regular account reviews and performance reports to clients and management.
  • Business Development
  • Identify and pursue new recycling opportunities within targeted industries and regions.
  • Collaborate with CRI Operations and Logistics Teams to ensure timely and efficient material pickup, processing, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with the CRI Accounts Team on a regular basis to grow and strengthen CRI’s account base along with the department.
  • Conduct site visits to evaluate recyclable materials and provide waste stream improvement recommendations.
  • Customer Service & Retention
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for client inquiries, service needs, and problem resolution.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through consistent communication and exceptional service delivery.
  • Maintain accurate records in CRM systems, including pricing, tonnage, and material tracking data.
  • Market Knowledge
  • Stay informed on commodity pricing trends, material grading standards, and recycling regulations.
  • Analyze market data to forecast pricing and advise management on business strategy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business (or experience equivalent), Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in industrial recycling, waste management, logistics, or B2B account management.
  • Strong understanding of recyclable commodities such as metals.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM platforms.
  • Ability to travel regularly to client sites and recycling facilities.
  • Valid driver’s license.
