How this role supports our mission:
A full-time position located at the Goodwill Youth Reengagement Centers. The Reengagement Coordinator will provide case management, support services and outreach to youth ages 12-24. The primary responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to, conducting community outreach to potential service partners and participants; planning and hosting community resource and service learning events; providing service linkages and referrals to youth; and coordinating the activities in the Goodwill Reengagement Youth Centers. The Reengagement Coordinator will ensure compliance with accepted standards, federal/state requirements, HUD grant deliverables and Goodwill Industries of Southern Arizona’s policies and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:
- Demonstrate company’s values at all times.
- Works with the Program Manager to plan, implement and manage programs and services that serve youth.
- Responsibilities include visits to agencies, schools, organizations, and justice partners to promote Goodwill programs and recruit potential participants.
- Coordinate and implement mentoring services, supervision, conflict resolution, recognition, and service learning based on current research of best practices
- Model appropriate behavior and provide positive reinforcement for participants progress, problem solve issues or concerns, and update participants’ individual success plan to reflect progress and goals. Ensure participants meet their minimum requirements for their respective Goodwill programs.
- Assist with managing/supervising reengagement center location(s) by providing exceptional customer service to all visitors and manage participants behavior(s) to promote and ensure a safe, positive and inclusive environment for all. Assist with daily cleaning and maintenance procedures at assigned center locations.
- Collaborate with Goodwill Academic, Employment and Housing Teams to assist with completion of program documentation and weekly outreach for youth to ensure their continued progress towards completion of goals.
- Leverage existing and create new community relationships in order to build strong partnerships and communicate routinely with designated personnel in education, behavioral health, social support, and career service agencies.
- Identify potential justice system partners and community advocates to support youth.
- Communicate effectively (both written and verbal) with Goodwill Youth Reengagement Center program staff members and volunteers, local schools, behavioral health agencies, local employers, parents/families and the Juvenile Justice System (JJS) and engage them in activities related to Goodwill Youth Reengagement Centers.
- Keep Program Manager informed of unusual and/or crisis situations as they arise.
- Serve as a Goodwill Ambassador in the community and engage in community outreach, resource development, and networking activities in order to grow and market the programs.
- Work with Program Manager to establish processes for submittal of data into Apricot/additional systems; enter data and upload information into Apricot data system according to established processes and timelines; create and maintain processes for submittal of data.
- Review submitted data with Program Manager on regular intervals and conduct follow-up on any missing or incomplete data (to include the internal G & O process).
- Maintain and track attendance hours for youth participants in work experience programming.
- Stay informed on any policy, procedure, or activities that effect the program including CARF regulations and federal regulations related to funding source (conditions of awards).
- Participate in all required trainings provided by funding sources and GISA, as needed.
- Ensures all safety rules are adhered to and the general upkeep of the facility meets the standards of Goodwill Industries of Southern Arizona, Inc. Reports accidents or injuries immediately.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualification Requirements:
B.A. in social work or education, or related field required, preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience with at-risk youth and the juvenile justice system required.
Prior supervisory experience preferred.
Excellent presentation skills.
Experience with recruitment and case management preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Computer skills to include Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Must possess or be able to obtain: Level 1 Fingerprint clearance card.
Must have reliable transportation, possess a valid AZ driver’s license, current auto insurance and meet Goodwill’s acceptable driving record insurance requirements to travel throughout the Southern Arizona area.
Ability to travel in Tribal communities in Pima County.
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all individuals.
