Finance Assistant
- Maintains full integrity of all revenues, ensuring GRM’s policies and procedures, as well as state and federal laws and regulations, are followed
- Enter A/R payments, A/P invoices, and process vendor checks
- Assist in preparing invoices and monitoring outstanding balances
- Negotiating contracts with suppliers and vendors for favorable conditions
- Coordinate buyer and purchasing activities for buying supplies, equipment, or materials
- Oversee office supplies for all departments (purchasing)
- Assist in the preparation of federal, state and local tax forms and reports
- Ensures compliance with accounting procedures through observation, supervision, and testing
- Develops procedures that ensure collections are complete and current
- Assist with audits and provide required documentation
- Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing
- Manage the process of achieving budget goals (expenses), reducing cost overruns in each department
- Analyzing price proposals, financial reports, and other relevant information to decide on a purchase
- Support month-end and year-end closing procedures
- Record and report outcomes of GRM financial efforts as outlined in department playbook
- Performs other related duties as requested
- Efficient, organized work style, and an ability to prioritize quickly and confidently while managing multiple deadlines
- Ability to work independently, with little supervision
- Serve as a key point of contact for vendors and internal partners, addressing inquiries, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring smooth communication
- Ability to handle sensitive information and materials
- Ability to exercise initiative and sound judgment and to react with discretion under varying conditions
- Knowledge of policies and practices associated with payroll and benefits administration
- Contribute to the success of the Finance team by performing additional duties as needed
- Cross-Functional Coordination - Collaborate with accounting, HR, and procurement departments to streamline financial processes and ensure seamless communication across teams
- Compliance - Ensuring that GRM is in compliance with all legal, regulatory, and financial reporting requirements, this is essential for our operation and reputation
- Time Management - Effectively handling multiple tasks and deadlines without compromising accuracy
- Achieve weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual success goals as approved and by GRM benchmarks and strategic plan
- Attend professional training and networking opportunities as directed
- Attend staff meetings or other meetings as directed
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred
- Finance experience in non-profit organizations is highly preferred
- 1–3 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or finance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, SAP)
- Working knowledge of financial practices and procedures, as well as a thorough understanding of state and federal rules and regulations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficient with accounting software and standard office and accounting equipment
- Personal integrity, truthfulness and accountability are critical, invaluable and essential characteristics
- Maintain a valid Arizona Driver’s License and must have a clean driving record
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
- Must be Christian, living a life dedicated to Christ, and be an instrument of God’s love, grace, hope, and forgiveness to all
- Some local travel to other locations for meetings or other business-related needs
- Requires frequent sitting, standing, and walking and lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds

- Full-time 40 hours per week non-exempt
