Accounts Payable Specialist

Summary/Objective: The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for receiving, verifying and entering all vendor invoices in a timely manner. Reconciles vendor accounts to statements. Answers telephone and greets visitors. Distributes mail.

Essential Functions:

• Verify AP invoice for accuracy and perform a three-way match to purchase order and receiving document
• Ensure non-purchase order invoices have proper approvals and coding before entering
• Enter invoices in ERP system
• Reconcile vendor accounts
• Process weekly check runs
• Scans AP invoices and payments
• Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries
• Posts AR invoices and scans
• Assists with applicant tracking and other HR/payroll-related functions as needed
• Assists with planning company luncheons and events
• Answers telephone and greets visitors
• Distributes mail
• Maintains office supply room and orders supplies as needed
• Other responsibilities as deemed appropriate

Minimum Qualifications:

• One+ years in an accounts payable specialist position, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• 10 key touch
• High school diploma / GED
• Proficient with Microsoft Office

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit, stand and move throughout the day in an office environment and production facility.

This position requires the ability to occasionally lift products and supplies, up to 20 pounds. May be subject to atmospheric conditions such as fumes, odors and dust.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30p.m.
