Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid state certification to teach Special Education (required)
- Previous experience teaching Special Education, particularly at the middle school level
- Strong understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage students, colleagues, and families effectively
- Commitment to fostering a supportive, accommodating atmosphere for students with diverse learning needs
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with exceptionalities
- Adapt lesson plans and instructional strategies to address a variety of learning styles and needs within the classroom
- Collaborate with fellow teachers, therapists, and school staff to ensure all students receive appropriate services and support
- Engage regularly with families to communicate student progress, goals, and strategies for success
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress, attendance, and compliance with all state and federal guidelines
