This role involves assisting veterinarians in various procedures, ensuring the well-being of animals, and maintaining a clean and organized environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
• Perform routine laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis.
• Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by the veterinarian.
• Monitor animal vital signs and provide critical care when necessary.
• Handle and restrain animals safely during examinations and treatments.
• Maintain accurate medical records for each patient.
• Educate pet owners on proper pet care, nutrition, and preventive health measures.
• Ensure all equipment is sterilized and maintained according to safety standards.
• Provide dental care for animals, including cleaning teeth and performing oral assessments.

Skills

• Proficient in animal handling techniques to ensure safety for both staff and animals.
• Knowledge of dental terminology related to veterinary practices.
• Strong understanding of pet care principles and practices.
• Experience in animal care settings, demonstrating compassion and empathy towards animals.
• Familiarity with veterinary critical care protocols and procedures.
• Ability to conduct laboratory tests accurately and efficiently.
• Certification or experience as a Veterinary Technician is preferred.
• Skills in animal catheterization for various species are advantageous.
• Competence in dog handling techniques to ensure effective communication with canine patients.
