Your Opportunity + Impact
The Senior Technical Specialist works closely with design technical team and is involved in all stages and disciplines of complex design projects. The Senior Technical Specialist is considered a subject-matter expert, is responsible for accurate and technical correctness of the work assigned and must be familiar with all aspects of the work they are supervising. This position is responsible for assisting the Project Team with developing scope and fees for complex multi-discipline projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Leads independent planning and design tasks, reviews the work of others, prepares construction documents, and ensures successful project delivery.
- Bring extensive experience to technically complex projects, providing oversight and expert input at all stages.
- Foster collaborative working relationships across departments and disciplines to ensure project success.
- Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of codes, standards, and regulations relevant to design projects.
- Conducts initial QA/QC reviews of project submissions to uphold quality standards.
- Develops project schedules, technical proposals, and labor-hour estimates to guide project execution effectively.
- Works closely with project teams to define and communicate the scope of work.
- Advocates for and utilizes quality assurance/quality control processes to enhance deliverable quality and reduce design errors and omissions.
- Performs and verifies design calculations, prepares technical specifications, and develops cost estimates.
Education and Experience
- Education: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a Technical discipline preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of twenty (20) years’ job-related experience.
- Licensure/Certification: n/a
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrates a strong desire for continuous learning and growth, with a willingness to take on new responsibilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) with strong communication and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated, capable of mentoring team members, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Advanced proficiency in design software such as CAD, Civil 3D, Revit, MicroStation, InRoads (Surfaces/Templates), SketchUp, Photoshop, and other relevant tools.
