General Position Description: Provides oversight of the Quality First team and coordination of the Quality First program’s activities, ensuring that the objectives are met within the required timelines and budgetary constraints.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists with the hiring, planning, and training of new Quality First Coaches in coordination with the administrative home.
  • Implements policies and procedures as required for the Quality First Coaching and Incentives Program.
  • Oversees components of coaching documentation, specifically as it relates to participants that are presenting with challenges in increasing quality or lack of engagement issues.
  • Ensures program effectiveness and consistency through regular monitoring of coaching visits, program timelines, guidelines, and requirements.
  • Monitors the development and facilitation of quality improvement plans as well as plans and paperwork associated with financial incentives.
  • Submits accurate and complete reports as per program guidelines and according to program timelines. Assists with generating content for quarterly narrative reports.
  • Engages in collaborative meetings and communication internally with the internal coaching partnership, as well as the larger Quality First programmatic system collaborations.
  • Provides ongoing monitoring of practice and regular reflective supervision to Coaches in support of their reaching optimal outcomes with participants, and in turn children and families.
  • Provides a broad range of administrative and supervisory functions. Supervises assigned staff in accordance with EBF personnel practices including recruitment, training, performance evaluations, and day to day scheduling. Participates in the process of ongoing professional development. Maintains comprehensive communication among all contacts within the agency, members, and external agencies. Models professional standards and ethics in accordance with EBF Code of Conduct, Strategic Plan, Mission, and Vision.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Social Service, Education, or related field with 5 years of experience working in an early childhood setting with children birth through 8 years of age and management and supervisory experience required. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.

Regulatory

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Current, unrestricted AZ driver’s license with no more than two (2) minor moving violations or one (1) accident within the past three (3 years). Three (3) years of driving experience required.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an AZ DPS Level 1 fingerprint clearance card (employer provides).
  • CPR and First Aid certification (Employer provides).

Skills/Job Knowledge/Abilities: Able to establish and maintain a team atmosphere of communication and collaboration for all that reach out to the Department and program. Must be self-directed and be sensitive to cultural and linguistic diversity. Maintains an established work schedule, is punctual, keeps appointments, willing to adapt schedule to meet unexpected needs and changes, and utilizes time effectively. Excellent customer service in stressful situations. Understands and maintains confidentiality related to private and sensitive information within the confines of need-to-know parameters. Maintains a professional appearance, communications, and actions. Excellent interpersonal communication skills. Basic knowledge of early childhood education, accreditation standards and systems, quality early care and education indicators, Early Learning Standards and Infant Toddler Developmental Guidelines, child development and dynamics, and management in early care and education settings. Possess a high level of computer proficiency.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements (with or without accommodation): Normal office environment with multiple interruptions in person and through computer and phone. Travel to outlying sites and other locations for observations, meetings, and/or trainings. Interacts with employees and members of the public on a daily basis. May lift normal office equipment and materials up to 25lbs. Visual acuity to read information from computer screens and forms. Able to speak clearly in conversations and general communications. Hearing ability for communication in persona, phone, and/or other electronic methods. Manual dexterity for typing and writing. Able to stoop, squat, reach, pull, push, stretch, ascend and descend stairs, stand and sit for long periods of time. May be required to work additional hours or days depending on circumstances.
