Salary: $30 per hour
1) Purpose of Role
Ensure GTIs electrical installations and documentation meet project specifications, contract requirements, and applicable codes/standards by leading field QA/QC activities, coordinating inspections and testing, and producing clear, actionable reports.
2) Scope & Decision Rights
Operates as the quality owner for assigned scopes from roughin through closeout. Exercises judgment to accept/reject work against specifications, flag nonconformances, and recommend corrective actions. Coordinates with project management, field leadership, commissioning agents, and client representatives. Escalates issues that affect safety, schedule, cost, or scope.
3) Essential Duties and Standards
- Perform field inspections of equipment, pathways, terminations, and duct banks per contract specifications and GTI QC plan.
- Review electrical test reports (e.g., continuity) for accuracy; follow up on deficiencies through closure.
- Verify conformance to codes/standards (e.g., NEC/NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, OSHA 29 CFR 1926) and project specifications (CSI MasterFormat).
- Coordinate prefunctional checklists, testing and commissioning activities, and track punch/deficiency lists to completion.
- Document work in progress with photographs, redlines, and daily quality reports; maintain organized records and submittal/RFI traces.
- Confirm equipment deliveries against approved submittals; log serial/model numbers and OFCI shiploose materials.
- Validate cable pulls against approved calculations and maintain pathway logs (e.g., mandrel logs for underground conduit).
- Collaborate with survey/layout for accurate placement of duct banks, equipment pads, and penetrations.
- Support rootcause investigations and corrective/preventive actions; recommend engineering controls and best practices.
- Interface in coordination/commissioning meetings; provide concise status, risks, and recovery actions.

- Knowledge of electrical codes, grounding/bonding, and construction sequencing
- Testing/commissioning literacy and disciplined documentation
- Clear communication across trades and with client stakeholders
- Detail focus, problem solving, and timely decision making
5) Qualifications
- 4+ years in electrical construction QA/QC, commissioning, or field installation; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficiency with construction documents, RFIs, submittals, and specifications; strong Blueprint Reading.
- Working knowledge of NEC/NFPA 70, NFPA 70E safe work practices, and OSHA 29 CFR 1926 requirements.
- Handson familiarity with inspection/test tools and Bluebeam/Procore; strong Microsoft Excel and document control (OneDrive/SharePoint).
- OSHA 30 and First Aid/CPR required or obtained shortly after hire; ASQ CQE a plus.
- Valid drivers license; ability to access active construction sites and perform field observations.
6) Performance Measure Buckets
- Quality compliance: % inspections passed first time; #/cycle time to close deficiencies and NCRs.
- Documentation rigor: completeness/traceability of RFIs, submittals, test logs, and daily reports.
- Commissioning readiness: prefunctional checklist completion and punch reduction across phases.
- Collaboration & responsiveness: stakeholder feedback, meeting actions completed on time.
- Safety & standards: adherence to NFPA 70E/OSHA requirements during QA/QC activities.
- Monitor excavation/trenching protection and erosion/sediment controls affecting electrical work interfaces.
- Track thermally controlled backfill placement and verify compliance of underground duct bank installation.
