Senior Estimator – Heavy Civil / Highway

Phoenix, Arizona | Office-Based | Full-Time

We're looking for a Senior Heavy Civil Estimator who wants more than just putting numbers together—you want to own bids, influence strategy, and help win complex infrastructure projects .

In this role, estimating is not back-office support—it's a core driver of growth and competitive advantage . You'll partner with leadership, project teams, and operations to deliver accurate, strategic, and winning bids across Arizona's most impactful infrastructure projects.

• Analyze plans, specs, and geotechnical reports with a risk-first mindset

• Perform site visits and pre-bid evaluations

• Define self-perform vs subcontracted scopes

• Build and distribute subcontractor and supplier bid packages

• Develop complete estimates using HCSS HeavyBid (takeoffs, assemblies, logic)

• Evaluate subcontractor/vendor pricing and make award recommendations

• Lead bid reviews , challenge assumptions, and refine strategy

• Collaborate with leadership to position bids for profitability and success

• 5+ years of heavy civil / roadway estimating experience

• Proven experience with:

  • Mass grading & earthwork

  • Concrete structures

  • Asphalt paving & aggregates

  • Transportation infrastructure projects

• Aviation project experience (runways, taxiways, aprons) is a strong plus

• HCSS HeavyBid (required)

• Experience with tools such as:

  • AGTEK

  • OST

  • Primavera P6

  • Advanced Excel

• Bachelor's degree in:

  • Civil Engineering

  • Construction Management

  • Or equivalent experience

• You've led bids , not just supported them

• You think strategically about risk, pricing, and competitiveness

• You're confident presenting to executives and project teams

• You thrive in a fast-paced, high-performance environment

• You bring a win the work mindset

• Lead estimating on large-scale, complex infrastructure projects

• Work alongside leadership that values your expertise and input

• Strong backlog and long-term stability

• Clear growth path into leadership or preconstruction roles

• Full-time position based in Phoenix, AZ
