Battery Engineer
Job Title: Battery Engineer Pay Rate: $105K-130K/salary Location: Tempe, AZ Zip Code: 85282 Start Date: ASAP Job Type: Direct Hire Keywords: #BatteryEngineerJobs #EngineeringJobs #AZjobs *Must be a U.S. Citizen or a Permanent Resident* We are seeking a Battery Engineer to join a premier manufacturer of custom battery systems and battery control electronics serving both military and commercial aerospace platforms. The Battery Engineer is responsible for design, development, and testing of both new and existing battery systems for Lead Acid Batteries and NiCad batteries. Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development of advanced cell and battery architectures that meet stringent aerospace requirements.
- Perform modeling and parameter analysis to optimize cell and battery designs for NiCad batteries.
- Work closely with Mechanical Engineers to ensure proper cell packaging and integration.
- Support the design of test regimes to characterize and validate performance at the cell and battery level.
- Prepare technical reports to communicate test results and performance characteristics to internal and external customers.
- Assist in sustaining engineering activities to enhance the performance and reliability of existing battery products.
- Analyze returned battery units (RMAs), identify root causes, and contribute to corrective action plans.
- Provide technical data to Sales & Marketing to help position our products effectively in the market.
- Must be proficient in Lead Acid Chemistry and experienced with NiCad battery design.

- Bachelor"s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in battery design, development, and testing.
- Working knowledge of battery cell fundamentals, including impedance, testing methods, and Li-ion failure modes.
- Familiarity with battery test equipment and data analysis practices.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Effective communicator with the ability to document and explain technical work clearly.
- Detail-oriented with a collaborative, hands-on approach to engineering challenges.
- Experience in battery design, development, and testing in an OEM or aerospace setting
- Working knowledge of MATLAB and SolidWorks (preferred).
