Salary Range: $130,000 $150,000

An exceptional opportunity is available for an experienced nursing leader to serve as Director of Quality at a 300-bed acute care hospital in Tucson, Arizona. This key leadership role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of quality improvement, performance outcomes, and patient safety programs across the organization. The position reports directly to the Chief Quality Officer and leads a team of five professionals dedicated to advancing clinical excellence and regulatory compliance.
Position Overview
The Director of Quality plays a critical role in ensuring that the hospital consistently meets and exceeds regulatory, accreditation, and performance standards. This leader will work collaboratively with medical staff and department heads to analyze outcomes, identify improvement opportunities, and implement initiatives that strengthen patient safety and quality of care.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute quality and performance improvement strategies in alignment with hospital goals and accreditation requirements.

Oversee data collection, analysis, and reporting of clinical performance metrics to drive evidence-based decision-making.

Facilitate RCA, FMEA, and other quality improvement methodologies to address adverse events and system inefficiencies.

Partner with interdisciplinary leaders to design, implement, and monitor corrective action plans that deliver measurable results.

Prepare and present detailed quality reports to executive leadership, governing boards, and hospital committees.

Lead education and training initiatives for staff on quality standards, patient safety, and regulatory changes.

Ensure ongoing readiness for regulatory surveys, including The Joint Commission and CMS compliance.
Qualifications

Education: Bachelors degree in Nursing required; Masters preferred.

Licensure: Active Arizona RN license required.

Experience: Minimum 57 years in healthcare quality, safety, or compliance, including 13 years in a leadership role.

CPHQ Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality
