Job Summary
We are looking for individuals to join our client’s team as Surgical Technician. responsible for preparing the surgical suite, maintaining a sterile environment, and providing instruments and supplies during surgical procedures. This role includes performing sponge, needle, and instrument counts, assisting with patient positioning, and monitoring changing conditions in the operating room to ensure safe and efficient procedures. The Surgical Technologist maintains knowledge of surgical techniques and principles, collaborates with physicians and staff to optimize workflow and instrument usage, and may serve as a Preceptor to guide and train new team members.
Job Description
- Provide sterile instruments and supplies during surgical procedures
- Perform surgical sponge, needle, and instrument counts
- Prepare case tables with necessary equipment, sterile supplies, instruments, and medications/solutions
- Assist in positioning patients for surgical procedures and maintain patient protection throughout the case
- Work with physicians to submit preference card changes
- Suggest instrument set changes to EMI and coordinate with SPD on instrument sets
- Engage in cost-cost discussions with surgeons and make cost-saving recommendations
- Participate in safety initiatives and complete all required safety competencies on time
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Competency with a variety of computer hardware and software
Education/Training/Certifications
- Associate’s degree or equivalent from an Accredited School of Surgical Technology (some programs may not require an associate’s degree)
Required Certifications:
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
- Certified Surgical Technologist / First Assistant (CST/FA)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Red Cross or American Heart Association
Additional Requirements
- Applicants must live an hour away
- Hours: Days (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM) | 10-hour shifts; variable weekend rotation
- On Call: Variable (minimum 2-hour back pay if called in)
- Scrub Color: Blue
Pay Rate
- $47–$55 per hour, based on experience, skills, and market factors
