Position
Rocky Mountain Laboratories is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Assistant to join our Core Labs/Chemistry team in Tempe, AZ. This is an early-career role designed for candidates with a science background who want to grow in a clinical laboratory career path.
Schedule
- Schedule TBD. Will either be Swing or Day shift.
- Day shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
- Swing shift: 12:00 PM – 8:30 PM
- Candidates must be flexible to adjust schedules as needed to meet business demands
- W2 hourly Team Members receive an 8% shift differential for hours worked between 8:00 p.m. and 4:00 a.m., as well as for all hours worked on Saturdays and Sundays
Anticipated Start Date
October 6, 2025, or as soon as we find the right candidate
Responsibilities
- Process and document clinical specimens for Chemistry/Core Lab testing
- Perform waived testing in compliance with regulatory standards
- Track and complete scheduled equipment maintenance tasks
- Maintain laboratory supplies, reagents, and inventory for Chemistry/Core Labs
- Accurately maintain logs, spreadsheets, and documentation supporting lab operations
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), HIPAA, and regulatory requirements
- Assist with answering phones, emails, and internal inquiries
- Collaborate with staff to resolve workflow challenges and support timely reporting
- Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant laboratory environment
- Participate in meetings, training, and special projects as assigned
- Perform other duties as directed by the supervisor
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office and spreadsheets
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while staying organized
- Commitment to confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
Preferred Qualifications
- Coursework or degree in chemistry, biochemistry, or a related life science
- Previous laboratory assistant or healthcare experience
- Familiarity with specimen processing, chain-of-custody procedures, or waived testing
- Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration skills
- Experience with laboratory information systems (LIS)

Salary
Starting at $18/hour
