General Responsibilities

The Weights and Measures Technician plays an important role in the daily functions of the lab, as they are the receiving point of contact for clients dropping off samples. The Weights & Measures Technician is responsible for paying close attention to detail in each step of their process to guarantee the accuracy of their work. Contributes to the intake process of laboratory samples by properly measuring the weight of samples, preparing the correct portions of sample for each analytical test; and maintaining good record keeping.

• Record and track accurate weights and measurements of samples using the regulatory processing procedures and implemented protocols.
• Maintains a clean, safe environment inside the processing area
• Good laboratory practices and using proper PPE
• Homogenizes samples
• Operates and cleans balances
• Participate in disposal process throughout the week
• Validate Balances and Tools
• Maintains quality control measures to ensure correct measurements.
• Ensures accurate weighing. Complete duties assigned by the Lead Weights and Measures Specialist.
• Assists in the proper disposal of sample
• Maintain compliance with company policies and procedures
• Sample inspection and handling
• Keeping all information confidential

Education

• College degree encouraged.

• 10 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
