Empower students to reach their full potential in a fulfilling, contract-based Special Education teaching position at the middle school level near Scottsdale, AZ. Key Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education
- Experience or training working with middle school students with varying exceptionalities
- Strong understanding of IEP processes, compliance, and implementation
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with staff, families, and related service providers
- Organizational skills for managing caseload, paperwork, and classroom activities
- Ability to adapt lesson plans and teaching methods to meet individual student needs
- Positive, patient, and flexible mindset in dynamic settings
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for assigned students
- Provide direct instruction and academic support in both small group and inclusive classroom settings
- Modify curriculum and assignments based on student needs and goals
- Collaborate actively with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and therapists
- Foster a supportive classroom environment that encourages growth and participation
- Track and report student progress, adjusting strategies as necessary
- Engage with families and caregivers to promote student success and maintain consistent communication
