Mission

Lead DO-254 documentation planning, development, and compliance execution for complex hardware in multidiscipline defense training solutions. Ensure requirements rigor, design assurance, verification discipline, traceability, configuration control, and certification readiness—every step mapped to DO-254 and related aerospace/defense standards.

Core Responsibilities

• Establish and manage DO-254 strategies and DAL across the hardware lifecycle.
• Author white papers, verification plans, detailed procedures, and formal test reports.
• Partner with project systems engineering to interpret and maintain customer requirements.
• Embed compliance to applicable industry and organizational standards.
• Support adjacent engineering tasks as program needs evolve; other duties as assigned.

Preferred Multidisciplinary Tools

• 3D modeling, mechanical design, and structural analysis experience.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or related discipline strongly preferred.
• At least 3 years in systems engineering or a comparable engineering role.
• Demonstrated familiarity with MIL and DO standards.
• Ability to gather inputs and craft high-quality technical documentation.
• Understanding of data I/O and equipment interface requirements.
• Broad base across digital and analog electronics plus mechanical systems.
• Proficient at reading schematics; capable of circuit troubleshooting when required.
• Exceptional analytical rigor, attention to detail, and communication skills.
• Able to brief management, program managers/directors, and customer stakeholders with ease.
• Preferred: Military background or experience on government contracts.
• Travel: Willing to travel domestically and internationally.
• Security: Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret security clearance is required.

• Day 30: You’ve mapped requirements, assessed DAL implications, and stabilized the DO-254 plan.
• Day 60: Verification strategy approved; configuration and traceability baselines in place.
• Day 90: Draft certification package outlines complete; test reports and evidence taking shape.
