Principal Test Systems Technical Lead Engineer – Secret Clearance Required
Location: Tucson, AZ (On-site)
Job Type: Contract or Contract-to-Hire (W-2)
Clearance: Active Secret (transferable, not interim)
Pay: $125,000 - $150,000 with full Government benefits
Overview
Seeking a Principal Test Systems Technical Lead Engineer to provide technical leadership within a lab environment supporting weapon test system development. This role works closely with test system designers to understand requirements, design solutions, integrate systems, and deploy test environments that support missile software development, verification, and delivery.
The selected engineer will lead multi-disciplinary teams and oversee the technical execution of test systems programs from development through production and deployment.
Key Responsibilities
- Communicate regularly with the Program Integrated Product Team Leader (IPTL)
- Own and drive the technical execution of assigned programs
- Partner with the Program Manager/IPTL to establish and complete program milestones
- Lead multi-disciplinary engineering teams in a lab/test environment
- Develop and present materials for gate reviews
- Attend and support:
- Failure Review Boards (FRBs)
- Change Control Boards (CCBs)
- Approve system changes as required
- Report team status metrics to program stakeholders
- Define program requirements in a cross-functional team environment
- Provide training and technical guidance to team members as needed
- Understand and manage program scope, cost, and schedule
- Define and delegate tasking across the team
- Travel up to 20% in support of development and/or delivery of test environment equipment
What You Will Learn
- System-level test setup and operation across development and production environments
- Experience collaborating across multi-disciplined engineering teams
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
- OR advanced degree with reduced years of experience
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience
- OR advanced degree with 8 years of relevant experience
- Experience with Test Systems Engineering or equivalent engineering experience supporting:
- Hardware development
- Test software development
- Integration
- Verification & validation
- Maintenance activities within production or manufacturing environments
- Experience with design, development, and/or integration of test equipment
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance (not interim)
- U.S. citizenship required
