ASRC Federal is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator (Part-time) to support our federal customer by maintaining and securing both physical and virtual network infrastructures. This role is focused on ensuring continuous and secure operations across a Microsoft-based environment, including administration of Microsoft 365 (M365) tools and network infrastructure. This is a remote position.
**Key Responsibilities:**
**Microsoft 365 Administration:**
+ Manage and maintain M365 Government environments, including user and group management.
+ Administer Microsoft tools such as Intune, Defender, Compliance Center, and Security Center.
+ Support activities related to:
+ Data Loss Prevention (DLP)
+ eDiscovery
+ Retention policies
+ Information Protection
+ Threat Management
+ Administer Exchange Admin Center and SharePoint Admin Center.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Teams administration and integration.
+ Experience with Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) and Entra Admin Center.
+ Strong understanding of hybrid environments and identity management solutions such as:
+ Single Sign-On (SSO)
+ Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
+ Directory synchronization between on-prem AD and Azure AD.
+ Use PowerShell scripting to automate M365 administrative tasks.
**Network Administration & Security:**
+ Configure, maintain, and document physical and virtual networks, including:
+ VLANs
+ Firewalls
+ Switches
+ Apply firmware and system updates.
+ Experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls.
+ Diagnose and resolve network issues, optimize network performance.
+ Monitor and respond to data backup logs and address related issues.
+ Manage LAN/WAN/VLAN design and enhancements.
+ Provide recommendations for Configuration Management (CM) and implement improvements.
+ Support disaster recovery by testing and maintaining backup and recovery solutions.
+ Maintain detailed and accurate network documentation, including:
+ IP schemes
+ Device configurations
+ Topology diagrams
+ Change logs
**IT Operations & Maintenance (O&M):**
+ Ensure uninterrupted operations of the agency's network infrastructure and endpoint devices.
+ Manage network backups and system recovery operations.
+ Support software installation and configuration to measure and improve network performance.
+ Provide regular status reports, recommendations, and technical documentation.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute system migrations from on-prem to M365, including hybrid and coexistence scenarios.
**Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field; OR
+ At least 9 years of experience in maintaining computer networks and systems if no degree is held.
+ 5+ years of professional experience in network and systems administration.
Preferred Experience:
+ Experience in federal or government IT environments.
+ Familiarity with compliance and cybersecurity standards such as FISMA, NIST, and RMF frameworks.
