About being our Civil Engineer Designer - Transportation
As a Civil Engineer Designer supporting our Transportation/Public Works engineering team in our Tucson office , you'll be utilizing and expanding your skills to organize and execute the technical quality and coordination of a broad range of project assignments requiring solid knowledge of transportation and public works projects. Responsibility Highlights for our Civil Engineer Designer - Transportation/Public Works
- Work under minimal supervision, providing support to project team for all necessary design services, direction, coordination, and follow-up on the work duties assigned
- Help with the development of projects and conventional aspects of engineering using CAD
- Execute technical tasks requiring solid knowledge of transportation and infrastructure on public works projects
- Design efforts will be concentrated in transportation engineering, to include research and analysis, engineering studies, street and highway design, transit, bicycle and pedestrian facilities, drainage, grading, signing and striping, water quality design, and utility coordination
- Research and analyze necessary technical aspects of transportation engineering
- Assist with investigations and coordination of utilities
- Support the development of technical reports, memorandums and exhibits
- Attend and participate in site visits and client meetings
- Support other team members as needed
Minimum Qualifications to be our Civil Engineer Designer - Transportation/Public Works
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related degree from an accredited college or university
- Minimum 3 years of experience in civil engineering design with agency or consulting firm with a focus on transportation projects, including roadway/highway design, roadway widenings, interchange modifications, bike trails/paths, etc.
- Familiarity with local municipality design and procedures, regulatory compliance, and agency coordination
- Knowledge and experience in computer software utilized in the transportation industry - OpenRoads, MicroStation and/or AutoCAD/Civil 3D
- Proficient in MS Office Suite
- Current knowledge of methods and development in civil engineering design
Preferred Qualifications for our Civil Engineer Designer - Transportation/Public Works
- Engineer-In-Training (EIT) Certification or can be obtained within 1 year of hire
- Interest in sustainable designs and concepts
