Position Summary:

The Staff Pharmacist will be responsible for the preparation of compounded sterile products and must comply with aseptic techniques in a clean room environment. Ensures the proper use of garbing and compounding in accordance with policies and procedures. Assists in the supervision of IV technicians, and other support personnel.

Responsibilities: Essential Duties

• Adheres to all policies and procedures
• Prepares compounded sterile products using aseptic technique and CAPS Standard Operating Procedures.
• Ensures pharmacy compliance with rules and regulations of the State Board of Pharmacy and other regulating agencies.
• Reviews orders and prescriptions for admixing and dispensing.
• Resolves order discrepancies and problems with customer pharmacy personnel. Provides after hour On Call coverage as needed.
• Participates in CAPS Continuous Quality Improvement Program and performs Quality Control functions as assigned.
• Assists in successful pharmacy operation: troubleshooting equipment problems, ordering supplies and maintaining inventory.
• Maintains positive customer relationships.
• May supervise IV Technicians and interns; reviews work for accuracy while ensuring compliance with CAPS SOPs.

Required Education and Experience:

• A licensed Pharmacist in the State of Arizona
• Graduate of an accredited school of Pharmacy
• BS in Pharmacy or Pharm D
• Bachelor's degree or PharmD required.
• 2 years related experience required . Sterile Compounding preferred .
• Schedule is (6am- 2:30pm or 9:30am-6pm) Monday-Friday occassional weekends. Holidays/overtime as needed.
