SeaCa Plastic Packaging, LLC located in Surprise, AZ is the newest company under the umbrella of Seattle-Tacoma Box Company headquartered in Kent, WA. Seattle-Tacoma Box Company has been under the same family management, for 6 generations spanning nearly 133 years.

Currently, Seattle-Tacoma Box Company and subsidiaries support assembly and production operations and warehouses in Washington, Alaska, Oregon, California, New Hampshire, and Arizona. SeaCa Plastic Packaging, LLC is an industry pioneer in the production of plastic corrugated products used throughout the food industry.

Type of position: Full-time

Typical schedule: (3) 12-hour days with a (4th) rotating 12-hour day. Must also be willing to work night shift: 10- hour days, Mon-Fri 40-50 hours a week.

General Description:

This role requires an experienced individual skilled in manufacturing products using finishing equipment in a corrugated plastics facility. This individual must possess expertise in Flexo printing, die-cutting, and folding/gluing processes.

• Ensure the safety of each crew working on shift and promptly address any safety concerns.

• Organize work groups, provide coaching to employees, monitor progress, enforce rules, and ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Set performance goals and project deadlines aligning with the company’s overarching plans.
• Address work quality problems, employee conflicts, and other concerns in a timely and effective manner.
• Conduct performance reviews, motivate team members, and devise strategies to enhance productivity.
• Coordinate job tasks with each crew, ensuring completion and adherence to set standards.
• Monitor machine rates and proactively address issues affecting productivity.
• Troubleshoot machine problems promptly and communicate unresolved issues to management.
• Exhibit strong communication and leadership skills, effectively resolving workplace issues.

Organize shift crews to fulfill their responsibilities, oversee the coordination of breaks and delegation of tasks to all team members. Execute shift requirements, including operating Flexo printer lines, managing flatbed die cutter lines, overseeing folder/gluer line operations, monitoring and recording machine settings, ensuring quality standards, addressing machine issues following standard operating procedures and verbal instructions. Additionally, report shift production details.

Take responsibility for the entire production process of finished sheets, printed sheets, die-cut boxes, and folded/glued boxes to meet order requirements. Maintain cleanliness and organization in all work areas.

Experience requirements

• Two or more years’ experience with machine operation, preference in flexo printing, flat bed or rotary die cutting, and flexo folding/gluing.
• Experience with supervision/leadership, safety standards, quality standards, and reporting production.

Education requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Writing and mathematical skills and a mechanical understanding.
