Telecommunications Systems Engineer
A Telecommunications Systems Engineer is needed for an engineering consulting company in the Tempe, AZ area. This role leads the design and 3D modeling of complex network infrastructure, ensuring that large-scale facility layouts and distribution systems meet strict TIA/BICSI standards and client specifications. location: Tempe, Arizona

work hours: 8am to 5pm
education: Associates responsibilities:
- Lead the design of complex telecommunications infrastructure, including Outside Plant (OSP), backbone distribution, and communication room layouts.
- Coordinate with architects and multi-disciplinary engineering teams to produce fully integrated 3D BIM models using Revit and AutoCAD.
- Ensure all designs and calculations comply with NEC, TIA, and BICSI standards and industry practices.
- Interface directly with clients to translate business needs into technical design packages and 2D/3D construction specifications.
- Manage telecom scope for large-scale projects, including the creation of rack elevations, device plans, and cable schedules.
- Oversee small to medium project schedules and budgets through effective estimation and project management.
- Apply technical knowledge of network topology, control systems, and audio-visual integration (paging/intercom).
- Leverage specialized expertise in semiconductor or data center environments to optimize system performance.
- Knowledge & application of telecommunications industry association (TIA) standards.
- Knowledge & application of BICSI (Building Industry Consulting Services International) design practices.
- Knowledge & application of NFPA 70 (NEC) and electrical design requirements.
- Experience leading a telecommunications design team.
- Knowledge of design and construction specifications.
- Experience estimating and scheduling small to medium size projects.
- A two-year technical or four-year degree alongside
- A minimum of 4 years of industry experience.
- Maintain or pursue industry certifications such as RCDD, DCDC, OSP, or RTPM.
