Job Description
The General Production Worker supports the production of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) units by managing incoming battery shipments and preparing materials for assembly. This role focuses on safely handling, organizing, and transporting battery components throughout the production process to maintain an efficient and continuous workflow on the production floor. Over time, team members have the opportunity to expand their skills through cross-training in multiple areas of production.
Responsibilities
- Receive and assist with unloading incoming battery shipments in a safe and efficient manner.
- Unbox battery packs and organize materials onto pallets for production use.
- Sort, stage, and label materials in an organized manner to support assembly operations.
- Transport batteries and components from packaging areas to designated production lines using appropriate equipment.
- Ensure materials are readily available at workstations to maintain a consistent workflow and production efficiency.
- Support the preparation of assembled units for testing and final production stages as needed.
- Assist with general production tasks, including repetitive assembly work and packaging activities.
- Operate basic production equipment and follow established production line processes once trained.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in accordance with safety standards and company procedures.
- Follow all safety guidelines and report any issues or hazards to maintain a safe production floor.
- Ability to perform general production and packaging tasks in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds comfortably and repeatedly as part of daily duties.
- Comfort performing repetitive assembly work while maintaining accuracy and quality.
- Capability to handle, move, and organize battery packs and related components safely.
- Basic experience or comfort with forklifts or material handling equipment, or willingness to be trained.
- Strong attention to detail when sorting, staging, and organizing materials.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to established processes.
- Willingness to work any day of the week, including weekends, based on shift needs.
- Reliability and punctuality to support continuous production operations.
- Interest in learning the assembly of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) units.
- Willingness to be cross-trained in multiple areas of production, including assembly, machinery operation, and production line processes.
- Openness to operating production machinery and equipment after appropriate training.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented manufacturing environment.
- Strong work ethic and commitment to maintaining safety and quality standards.

Work Environment
This role is based in a manufacturing facility focused on the production of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) units. The work involves frequent handling, lifting, and movement of battery packs and components, as well as repetitive assembly and packaging tasks. Team members work on a 12-hour shift schedule with a 2-3-2 pattern, which may include weekdays and weekends. Available shifts include day shifts from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm and night shifts from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am across multiple teams (Blue 1, Blue 2, Gold 1, Gold 2). The environment emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and organization, with established processes and safety standards guiding daily activities. Appropriate work attire suitable for a production floor is expected, including clothing and footwear that support safe material handling and movement around equipment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
