SUMMARY

The Sr. Logistics Coordinator function plays a vital role in interacting with our drivers and our customers. The Sr. Logistics Coordinator’s role creates and manages client orders to ensure pickup/deliveries remain on schedule. This position must always display professional demeanor and excellent communication skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Schedules and communicates expectations to the hauling department and/or local operations. Including: pick up/delivery time schedules/location and on time expectations.
  • Actively accepts accountability for tracking and communicating appropriate information related to customer cargo and resolves problems.
  • Work in conjunction with operations & billing departments to ensure that all orders are complete and accurate in multiple systems.
  • Electronically register orders using in-house registration system, van line application, and Mover’s Suite application.
  • Process all necessary paperwork for each order; (i.e., worksheets, quotes, bills of lading, inventories).
  • Track the progress of every customer order.
  • Determine the necessary services and equipment needs for the specific job and communicate all pertinent details effectively to all key departments, drivers and other personnel.
  • Manage specific accounts, using independent judgment, to interface and coordinate with customer on all orders, registrations and any changes.
  • Provides consistent and professional communication to internal and external customers.
  • Utilize various sources of communication for scheduling including internet, e-mail and company phone system.
  • Provides coverage for co-workers when necessary or instructed by management.
  • Call other agents for local job assistance throughout the US.
  • Escalates issues to manager when appropriate.
  • Performs other duties as required and assigned.


MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience

College degree in Supply Chain and Logistics, a related field or experience in lieu of education.
4 years’ industry experience in a Dispatch or related role

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word & Outlook).

  • English (reading, writing, and verbal).

  • Ability to build and maintain positive business relationships with carriers, drivers and internal personnel.
  • Ability to coordinate, solve problems, track loads and provide excellent customer service.

  • Ability to work in a fast -paced environment, with a demonstrated ability to balance multiple duties concurrently and maintain attention to detail.
  • Must be comfortable and adept at working both independently and within a team.
  • Working knowledge of company and the services offered.
  • Must have availability to work a variety of shifts: days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays if a business need requires.
  • Exhibits exceptional aptitude regarding project management and problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to multitask, have great organizational skills, be self-motivating, able to meet or exceed our customer’s expectations and be able to look for creative solutions to transportation needs. Data entry, extensive phone and computer time will take up much of the day.
  • Must possess the ability to quickly process information and make decisions. Must have strong experience in transportation and customer service.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience

  • Associate degree preferred
  • Intermodal transportation experience a plus.
  • 5 years Logistic industry or distribution industry a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee uses his/her hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch; talk or hear. The employee uses computer and telephone equipment. Specific vision requirements of this job include close vision and distance vision. May require physical effort associated with using the computer to access information, or occasional standing, walking, lifting needed to carry out everyday activities. Travel may be required for this role domestically.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee rarely is exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.

For this position, the expected base pay is: $56,000 - $76,500 / Annual. Actual base compensation will be determined based on various factors including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
