Director of Operations

Our client is a fast-growing nutraceutical contract manufacturer that develops and produces dietary supplements for leading health and wellness brands. With advanced manufacturing capabilities and cGMP-certified facilities, the company produces capsules, tablets, powders, and liquid supplements for customers across North America and international markets.
As demand continues to grow, the organization is expanding its operations leadership team to scale manufacturing capabilities and operational excellence.
Position Overview
The Director of Operations will oversee manufacturing, production, supply chain, and operational performance for a nutraceutical manufacturing facility. This role will focus on improving operational efficiency, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting customer growth through reliable and scalable manufacturing operations.
This leader will partner closely with R&D, Quality, and Commercial teams to ensure successful product launches and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead all aspects of manufacturing operations including production, packaging, maintenance, and supply chain
• Ensure compliance with FDA dietary supplement regulations and cGMP manufacturing standards
• Drive operational excellence through Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
• Oversee production scheduling, capacity planning, and inventory management
• Develop and monitor key performance indicators related to safety, quality, efficiency, and on-time delivery
• Partner with R&D teams to support successful product commercialization and technology transfer
• Optimize manufacturing processes and implement best practices for supplement production
• Develop and mentor operations leaders including production managers, supervisors, and engineers
• Manage vendor relationships and ensure reliable raw material supply
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, or related discipline
• 7+ years of operations leadership experience in nutraceutical manufacturing
• Strong understanding of dietary supplement cGMP regulations
• Experience managing manufacturing operations within a contract manufacturing environment
• Proven success improving operational efficiency and manufacturing performance
Preferred Experience
• Experience leading high-growth manufacturing environments
• Background implementing Lean, Six Sigma, or operational excellence initiatives
• Experience with multiple supplement dosage forms including capsules, powders, tablets, gummies, and liquids
