Patient Care Coord - IP Psych Unit
Assist with discharge coordination and outpatient appointment scheduling
Coordination of meetings with patients and families
Coordinate department staff meetings
Support unit operations including ordering supplies for unit
Collaborate with providers and interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care
Utilize centralized computer-based admission/billing systems
Cross-functional responsibilities bridging HUC and PPC functions
Strong behavioral health coordination and case management support This position is full time, 40 hours/week, M - F, 8 AM - 5 PM; NO holidays/weekends. This position supports the Inpatient Psychiatry unit by assisting in the coordination of patient care from admission through discharge, through providing administrative support to the entire department, ensuring efficient and effective provision of information across the continuum of care through collaborating with parents, physicians, mental health therapists, nursing and other health care providers to ensure optimal internal and external customer satisfaction. Education
- High school diploma or equivalent and work experience and/or education totaling two years in a behavioral health related field. (Required)
- Bachelor`s degree in Psychology, Recreation Therapy, Sociology, or a field related to behavioral health. (Preferred)
- One year experience in a hospital setting to include using a centralized computer-based patient admission or billing system (Required)
- One year pediatric experience (Preferred)
- One year behavioral health experience (Preferred)
- Experience with AMPFM or SCM platform, medical terminology and HIPAA privacy laws (Preferred)
- Current fingerprint clearance card prior to employment date. (Required)
- Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider from the American Heart Association. (Required)
- Current Crisis Prevention Intervention certification or obtained within 60 days of start date. (Required)
- At least twenty-one years of age. (Required)
