ER RN Job Details – Phoenix, AZ

• Location: Phoenix, AZ 85008 (Arizona nursing jobs)
• Facility: Main Emergency Department, Level I Trauma Center
• Employment Type: Locum tenens (Travel Registered Nurse contract)
• Start Date: September 22, 2025
• End Date: December 22, 2025
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 - 07:30)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Patient Ratio: 1:4
• Charting System: Epic (preferred)
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1950-$2000

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona or compact state (must be in hand at submission)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department RN experience
• Previous travel nursing or locum tenens experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, TNCC, ENPC, PALS
• Pediatric Emergency Department skillset required; strong pediatric experience in a mixed ED accepted
• Preferred certifications: CPI, PCAR
• Preferred experience: Level I/II Trauma Center, Community Hospital, LTAC
• Epic charting experience preferred

ER Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care to patients of all ages in a busy Emergency Department
• Perform triage, assessment, and management of acute and trauma cases
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, administer blood products, and initiate IVs
• Administer continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation
• Care for ventilated patients and those requiring CPAP/BiPAP
• Implement isolation precautions and manage patients with complex diagnoses
• Utilize pediatric emergency nursing skills for neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory therapy, radiology, pharmacy, and social services
• Maintain compliance with all documentation and regulatory requirements
