Send job Job Details Position Title Lead Finanical Navigator- AdmissionsSalary - Salary Plan, 49,899.00 USD Annual Campus East Peoria Campus, Peoria Campus Employment Type Management, StaffFull time Department Admissions Start Date 10/31/2025 Summary Job Description: At Illinois Central College, the Lead Financial Navigator is primarily responsible for providing prospective students and their families extensive support throughout the admission process. This position plays a critical role to ensure students have the awareness and assistance to navigate their financial options and obligations effectively to facilitate the enrollment process by empowering students to make informed decisions about their financial situation. Reporting to the Director of Admissions, this role supports data-informed departmental objectives aligned with the division’s goals and the college's mission and strategic priorities. This position will rotate between the East Peoria and Peoria campuses as needed. Compensation for the Lead Financial Navigator is $49,899.20-$57,366.40 annually. - Lead the process as the College expert on financial resources available to students to help pay for college; including apprenticeships, grants, scholarships, and federal and state financial assistance.
- Collaborate with students and their families to provide comprehensive guidance on managing the financial aspects of higher education.
- Communicate information to students and their families regarding financial aid eligibility, award of financial assistance packages, balance owed on the student's account, how to set up payment plans, applying for additional loans, and other payment options.
- Collaborate with students and families to tailor personalized financial plans for their higher education journey and provide guidance on scholarship opportunities.
- Provide resources and support to help students understand student loan options and manage debt responsibly.
- Assist students in accessing and utilizing financial literacy resources to empower them to make informed decisions about financing their education.
- Assist students in completing the Free Application for Federal Assistance (FAFSA) and facing special circumstances that impact their eligibility for financial aid.
- Participate in all Admissions Events, Accepted Student's Days, Orientations, and occasional evening and weekend events, and deliver presentations to diverse stakeholders to bolster student recruitment efforts.
- Participate at high school and community events focusing on helping prospective students and families learn and understand college financial assistance and the process.
- Conduct orientations, workshops, and presentations to educate colleagues about financing options for higher education and best practices in financial aid advising.
- Stay abreast of updates to federal and state regulations governing financial aid programs.
- Oversee a territory with the primary responsibility to analyze the current and historical admissions results and trends within the recruitment area.
- Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to help you surpass enrollment goals. Prepare and present detailed reports on recruitment activities and enrollment trends.
- Maintain accurate records of prospective student interactions and contact details in the CRM database.
- Perform related duties as required.
- Bachelor's degree in related field.
- Minimum of two years of related experience working with disadvantaged individuals and making community referrals.
- Two or more years of case management experience.
- Ability to relate and interact well with college students.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including establishing and maintaining cooperative and professional working relationships with others.
- Master’s or higher degree in a related field
- Fluent in Spanish.
- Community College experience
