Staff Software Engineer, DevEx

We’re looking for a Staff Engineer to join our Developer Experience (DevEx) team , whose mission is to empower developers to move faster by owning the core infrastructure, tools, and systems that make shipping secure, scalable, and observable applications feel effortless.

This role sits at the intersection of product engineering and cloud infrastructure—think of it as a blend of backend engineer, DevOps, and platform engineer . You'll work across the stack to eliminate friction, reduce cognitive load, and pave the way for teams to innovate quickly without sacrificing stability or security.

• 7+ years of DevOps/CloudOps engineering experience, ideally in fast-paced product or platform teams
• You're not afraid to learn new technologies and attempt problems you haven't faced before.
• Deep hands-on experience with AWS services (e.g., EC2, RDS, SQS, SNS, IAM, etc.)
• Proficiency with Terraform, Kubernetes, and containerized deployments
• Experience building and scaling multi-tenant SaaS applications in production
• Strong understanding of software architecture, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and system observability
• Ability to work across the stack: comfortable digging into application code and infrastructure as needed
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with developers, DevEx, and security
• Strong problem-solving instincts with a builder mentality
• Curious and proactive: Constantly looking for friction points and ways to improve internal developer workflows
• Empathetic toward developers: Understands the challenges product teams face and aims to make their lives easier
• Clear communicator: Can articulate complex trade-offs between infrastructure, velocity, and security
• Execution-oriented: Delivers well-scoped solutions without over engineering. You have a GSD attitude

• Prior experience on a Developer Experience, CloudOps, or DevOps Enablement team
• Familiarity with cloud cost optimization practices
• Experience improving developer productivity and reducing cognitive overhead across engineering org
• Strong scripting or automation background (Python, Bash, etc)
• Security-minded approach to system design and deployment

$150,000 - $180,000 a year
