Assistant General Manager (Carl's Jr)
Key Responsibilities:
1. Operational Management:
- Assist the General Manager in overseeing daily restaurant operations, ensuring a high level of efficiency and consistency.
- Ensure that food is prepared to Carl’s Jr.’s quality standards and served to customers promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in all areas of the restaurant, including the dining room, kitchen, and restrooms.
- Help with managing opening and closing procedures, including cash handling, equipment checks, and securing the premises.
- Monitor food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards to ensure compliance with company policies and local regulations.
2. Staff Supervision & Leadership:
- Supervise and lead a team of employees during shifts, ensuring they perform their tasks effectively and efficiently.
- Assist in the hiring, training, and development of new and existing employees, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Provide continuous coaching and feedback to employees to improve performance and maintain high levels of customer service.
- Motivate and support staff to meet or exceed performance expectations and company goals.
- Ensure that team members adhere to Carl’s Jr.’s policies and procedures, including safety, hygiene, and uniform standards.
3. Customer Service Excellence:
- Ensure that all customers receive prompt, courteous, and efficient service.
- Address and resolve customer complaints and issues in a professional manner to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Lead by example in providing high-quality service and ensuring customer needs are met.
- Monitor the dining area, ensuring customers are attended to and that their experience is enjoyable.
4. Financial & Inventory Management:
- Assist in managing the restaurant’s financial performance, including tracking sales, expenses, and labor costs.
- Help achieve or exceed financial goals by monitoring budget expenditures and controlling costs.
- Assist in inventory management, ensuring that food and supplies are stocked and stored properly, and minimizing waste.
- Monitor cash handling procedures, ensure accuracy in the cash register, and assist with daily cash reconciliation.
5. Health & Safety Compliance:
- Ensure the restaurant complies with all health and safety regulations, including food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures.
- Conduct regular health and safety checks to ensure compliance with local regulations and company standards.
- Assist in maintaining safety and security protocols for the restaurant and team members.
6. Marketing & Community Engagement:
- Support the General Manager in executing local marketing strategies, promotions, and community outreach efforts to drive sales and brand awareness.
- Help implement national and regional marketing campaigns at the restaurant level to attract customers and increase sales.
- Participate in community engagement initiatives and maintain positive relationships with local organizations and customers.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (required); college degree in business or hospitality management is a plus.
- Experience: At least 2-3 years of experience in a supervisory or management role in the food service industry, preferably in a quick-service or fast-food environment.
- Leadership: Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate, train, and develop staff.
- Customer Service: Excellent customer service skills and the ability to handle customer complaints or concerns professionally and promptly.
- Financial Acumen: Experience in managing budgets, financial performance, inventory, and labor costs.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with employees and customers.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to make quick, effective decisions to resolve operational challenges and customer issues.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time during shifts.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
