Operations Supervisor - Receiving - Dynamic Leadership Role - Peoria, AZ
- Lead, supervise, and support warehouse receiving associates during daily operations.
- Work directly on the warehouse floor alongside associates to monitor productivity, ensure proper processes, and provide real-time coaching.
- Oversee all inbound receiving activities, including unloading, verification, staging, reconciliation, and system updates.
- Ensure proper handling, preservation, and storage of all received materials.
- Maintain accurate inventory by reviewing records, monitoring stock levels, and investigating discrepancies.
- Document and maintain standard operating procedures for all receiving processes.
- Provide clear verbal and written instructions to associates.
- Train, coach, and develop employees in receiving procedures, safety practices, equipment operation, and quality standards.
- Approve timecards daily/weekly and ensure compliance with attendance policies.
- Administer accountability through corrective actions, performance discussions, and follow-up consistent with company policy.
- Engage regularly with associates to promote communication, morale, and employee development.
- Maintain communication with internal departments and customers regarding receiving schedules, exceptions, and service requirements.
- Prepare operational reports including productivity tracking, inventory exceptions, and receiving summaries.
- Support and lead periodic cycle counts and full physical inventories.
- Quickly adjust labor based on workflow demands, volume spikes, or changing customer requirements.
- Address and resolve associate concerns, operational issues, vendor discrepancies, or customer-related problems.
- Ensure compliance with company safety standards, OSHA regulations, and proper equipment usage.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all receiving and dock areas.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Three to five years of relevant leadership experience and/or training in warehouse shipping and receiving operations.
- Must have experience with WMS (Manhattan, Koerber)
- Proficiency in operating standard warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks, or similar machinery).
- Basic computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Ability to lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds as part of regular job duties.
