Developer

Akkodis is seeking a Developer for a Contract with a client in Phoenix, AZ. The ideal candidate must have strong Spark expertise to design and optimize big‑data pipelines while independently developing, testing, and deploying end‑to‑end features.

Rate Range: $37/hour to $47/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Developer job responsibilities include:

• Design, develop, and maintain large scale data processing pipelines using Spark, Java, Spring Boot, and distributed data technologies.

• Deliver end to end software solutions, owning features from inception to production across both greenfield and brownfield projects.

• Optimize and troubleshoot data workflows, Spark jobs, and backend services, ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability.

• Work with NoSQL/datastore technologies (e.g., Cassandra) to build and refine data models, storage layers, and high throughput data access patterns.

• Collaborate with cross functional teams to refine requirements, enhance platform architecture, and mentor junior engineers.

• Implement automated testing, deployment, and monitoring, ensuring high quality code, stability in production, and continuous improvement of the system.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or a related technical field.

• 6–9 years of professional experience in Java, Big Data, and distributed systems development.

• Strong hands‑on expertise in Apache Spark (3+ years) along with Java, Spring Boot, and Big Data frameworks; ability to independently build, test, optimize, and deploy data‑intensive applications.

• Working knowledge of NoSQL databases (e.g., Cassandra) with strong troubleshooting skills, end‑to‑end delivery capability, and applied understanding of statistical concepts for data processing.

Pay Details: $37.00 to $47.00 per hour
