IOP Phlebotomist Job Description We are seeking a dedicated phlebotomist to join our team in a doctor's office setting. The role involves drawing patients' blood, performing specimen processing, and ensuring accurate entry of specimens into our computer system. You will be responsible for the preparation and distribution of samples for analytical testing, adhering to pre- and post-testing procedures, and performing specified analytical tests. This position requires compliance with the Code of Conduct. Responsibilities + Draw blood from patients and perform specimen processing. + Collect and receive biological specimens into the department. + Ensure proper entry of specimens into the computer system. + Prepare samples for analytical testing and distribute them to the appropriate analytical area. + Perform specified analytical testing as assigned. + Follow guidelines of the Code of Conduct. Essential Skills + 1-2 years of experience in phlebotomy. + Proficiency in blood draws and specimen processing. + Ability to work effectively with cancer patients and manage difficult draws. + Team player mentality. + GED or high school diploma. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience working with cancer patients. + Strong skills in patient care. Work Environment The position is located within a doctor's office at the Honor Health Cancer Center Shea in Scottsdale. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. The site consists of a three-person team, where collaboration with medical assistants is essential. Candidates should ideally live within 15 or 16 miles of the location. This role offers opportunities for growth, including a career ladder after 6 months to advance to Phlebotomy Tech 2 with a pay increase. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.36/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
