Tax Accountant - Part-Time (PT)

Description Our client, a local CPA firm in the northwest area of Tucson, is in need for a part-time Tax Accountant to join their team on a contract-to-hire basis! The ideal candidate will possess their EA or CPA, demonstrated history of accurately completing assignments and working in a deadline-driven environment. The preparation of simple and complex, individual and small business State and Federal tax returns, will depend on the Tax Preparer. Major responsibilities + Prepare individual, corporate, partnership, and fiduciary tax returns. + Conduct thorough tax research to resolve issues or provide recommendations for complex tax situations. + Assist with tax planning and advising clients on tax-saving strategies. + Review and analyze financial records to calculate tax liabilities and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax laws. + Communicate with clients to gather necessary documentation and address any questions or concerns. + Correspond with tax authorities regarding notices, audits, and other tax-related matters. + Stay updated on tax laws, regulations, and industry best practices. + Support the CPA firm with additional accounting and tax-related tasks as needed. Requirements + Active EA or CPA license preferred + Proven experience in tax preparation for a variety of entities (e.g., individuals, businesses, trusts). + Proficiency in accounting software and tax preparation tools (e.g., Drake, UltraTax, CCH, Lacerte). + Strong understanding of IRS regulations and state/local tax laws. + Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. + Ability to handle confidential information with the utmost integrity. + Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines. + Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
