Air Quality Permitting Specialist

Ameresco is seeking a motivated Air Quality Permitting Specialist to join our environmental department based in Phoenix, Arizona . We are seeking candidates with a good foundation in air quality regulations and permitting, who are ready to contribute to complex projects involving regulatory compliance, impact analyses, and reporting.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and submit air permit applications and compliance reports to local, state, and federal agencies.
Serve as a technical resource on air quality permitting and compliance programs under NSR, PSD, Title V, state, and local regulations.
Conduct air quality impact analyses, health risk assessments, and greenhouse gas analyses.
Interpret and apply regulatory requirements under district regulatory programs, the federal Clean Air Act, and greenhouse gas regulations.
Manage project budgets, scope, and schedule.
Support environmental review processes under NEPA and CEQA.
Familiar with modeling tools and software including CalEEMod, EMFAC, OFFROAD, CALINE4, AERMOD, CAL3QHCR, ISCST3, AERSCREEN, SCREEN3, and GIS.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with air quality standards and project objectives.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
Minimum of four (4) years of progressive experience in air quality compliance, permitting, and regulatory programs.
Additional Qualifications:
Familiarity with local, state, and federal air quality rules and regulations.
Proficiency in air quality modeling tools and regulatory analysis methodologies.
Strong technical writing and communication skills.
Preferred: Advanced degree or professional certifications in environmental engineering/science.
