Industrial Painter

Hello! We are currently hiring for Industrial Painter here in Phoenix, AZ!

Pay Rate: $24-$32/Hr

Location: All around the Phoenix area

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Industrial Painter with strong knowledge of epoxy and cementitious coatings, surface preparation methods, and experience working in confined spaces. The ideal candidate will be proficient in grinding and sanding to create smooth surfaces and be comfortable working in and around confined spaces, such as manholes and underground structures. This role requires the wearing of proper PPE on-site.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces by grinding and sanding to achieve a smooth finish.
• Work comfortably in confined spaces and underground structures.
• Mix and match paint colors according to project specifications and client preferences.
• Apply primer, paint, and other coatings using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment, ensuring even and smooth coverage.
• Monitor drying times and apply additional coats as needed, ensuring proper adhesion and finish.
• Read and understand data sheets for coating applications.
• Use a wet film thickness (WFT) gauge for coating applications.
• Produce 2000-4000 square feet of coated surface weekly for a team of two.
• Mix and apply 20-25 mills of epoxy at a time.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in painting, industrial painting, and epoxy coatings.
• Experience in commercial painting and paint preparation.
• Ability to perform basic math for mixing and measurements.
• Familiarity with tools such as rollers, brushes, squeegees, and gauge rakes.
• Certification in SSPC or NACE is required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in ribbon lacing and understanding of temperature control.
• Ability to understand and utilize data sheets effectively.

Work Environment

• Work hours are from 9pm to 7am, Monday through Friday, with a 50-hour workweek.
• Coating applications must be completed by 4am due to outdoor heat conditions.
• Enjoy a supportive team environment with all necessary equipment provided, including spiked cleats if needed.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, Arizona.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.39 - $32.00/hr.
