Senior Tax Associate – Tucson, AZ (Temp-to-Hire)
We’re Hiring! Start ASAP! A well-established CPA firm in Tucson is seeking a Senior Tax Associate to join their team on a temp-to-hire basis. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced tax professional to lead client engagements, mentor junior staff, and grow into a permanent role. Position Overview The Senior Tax Associate, under guidance from leadership, will: Lead assigned tax projects while ensuring quality, timeliness, and adherence to budgets. Provide technical expertise and support the development of junior staff. Maintain strong client relationships and deliver exceptional service. Support business development initiatives as needed. Duties and Responsibilities Perform client work in accordance with professional standards and firm policies. Act as accountant-in-charge on assigned engagements, managing staff to meet deadlines and quality expectations. Mentor junior staff and interns, performing preliminary reviews. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of firm services and offerings. Travel to client sites as needed. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; working toward CPA certification a plus. 2–4 years of tax compliance and research experience, ideally in a medium-to-large public accounting firm. Strong analytical, technical, time management, and communication skills. Proficiency in US GAAP, IRS regulations, Microsoft Word and Excel; other accounting software a plus. High ethical standards and a collaborative mindset. Compensation & Benefits Pay: $65,000 – $80,000 DOE Temp-to-hire position 401(k) plan and employer-paid health insurance Paid time off (PTO) Additional Info: Drug and background check required after offer acceptance. Immediate start upon completion of screening.
