Radiation Therapist - Travel Job

What You'll Need:
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Radiation Therapy from an accredited program
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in Radiation Therapy
• Valid Arizona state license for Radiation Therapy, if required by state regulation
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a radiation therapist. Clinical experience with external beam radiation therapy, treatment planning systems, and linear accelerators is required.
• Experience performing equipment quality control checks and routine troubleshooting of treatment devices.
• Ability to perform patient assessments, immobilization, simulation, and safely administer prescribed radiation doses according to protocols.
• Must meet facility-specific requirements for varied work schedules. Vendors: ensure candidates are aware of all requirements noted in additional comments prior to applying.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous experience in a hospital-based radiation oncology department preferred.
• Additional education or specialized training in radiation oncology or medical physics preferred.

Additional Duties:
• Operate and maintain radiation therapy and treatment planning equipment, including simulation.
• Accurately position patients and ensure proper immobilization during treatment.
• Verify treatment plans and dosage with the oncology team and document all treatments.
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions during and after therapy and provide patient education.
• Perform and evaluate equipment quality control measurements and report issues to appropriate personnel.
• Adhere to radiation safety practices, ALARA principles, and departmental policies.
