BCforward is currently seeking a highly motivated Hybrid Job - Financial Compliance & Reporting Consultant in Phoenix, Arizona 85007

Position: Financial Compliance & Reporting Consultant

Location: Phoenix, AZ 85007

Work Schedule: Hybrid – 3 Days Onsite / 2 Days Remote

Shift: Monday – Friday (40 Hours/Week)

Start Date: 1–2 Weeks

Duration: 6+ Months Contract (Possible Extension)

Pay Rate: $48.11/hr on W2

Job Overview:

Seeking a Financial Compliance Consultant to provide high-level governmental accounting expertise. This role focuses on bank reconciliation oversight, financial compliance, and ACFR reporting while ensuring alignment with GAAP and GASB standards. The consultant will also advise leadership on financial controls, reconciliation procedures, and risk mitigation.

Key Responsibilities:

Review and oversee reconciliation of multiple bank accounts.

Support preparation and compliance for Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR).

Interpret and implement GASB standards and governmental accounting policies.

Establish financial controls and checks & balances for financial reporting.

Work with internal teams and auditors to ensure compliance with SEFA and Single Audit requirements.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in government or public sector.

Strong knowledge of GAAP, GASB, and governmental financial reporting.

Experience with ERP/accounting systems and financial reconciliation.

Preferred:- Not Mandatory

CPA (Certified Public Accountant).

Experience preparing or reviewing ACFR reports.

Background in government audits, accounts payable, or financial compliance.
